Founded in 1921, Physical Therapy is the official publication of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and is an international, scholarly, peer-reviewed journal. Physical Therapy serves APTA members and other health care professionals by (1) documenting basic and applied knowledge related to physical therapy, (2) providing evidence for evidence-based practice in physical therapy, and (3) publishing a variety of research that is relevant to the field, diverse opinions that are based in scholarly arguments, and scientifically credible descriptive articles such as case reports. Physical Therapy, like the profession it serves, strives to enhance the health and well-being of all members of society.As the leading international journal for research in physical therapy and related fields, PTJ publishes innovative and highly relevant content for both clinicians and scientists and uses a variety of interactive approaches to communicate that content, with the expressed purpose of improving patient care.
