成立于1968年的《地球物理學和行星內部物理學》雜志是為了滿足行星物理學、大地測量學和地球物理學領域對國際期刊的需求，現在已成為所有地球物理學家的重要讀物。它是唯一一本完全致力于行星內部物理和化學過程的雜志。定期發表原創研究論文、評論文章、短通訊、書評;有時，雜志的特刊專門刊登專題討論會和大會的會議記錄，編輯們認為這些會引起讀者的特別興趣。

Launched in 1968 to fill the need for an international journal in the field of planetary physics, geodesy and geophysics, Physics of the Earth and Planetary Interiors has now grown to become important reading matter for all geophysicists. It is the only journal to be entirely devoted to the physical and chemical processes of planetary interiors.Original research papers, review articles, short communications and book reviews are all published on a regular basis; and from time to time special issues of the journal are devoted to the publication of the proceedings of symposia and congresses which the editors feel will be of particular interest to the reader.
